We live in walking heaven and the area is very popular with cyclists. There are lots of routes starting from the front door, or further afield. You can be on top of the Downs in about half an hour, walking across farm tracks, through woods and fields to get there. We have maps available to borrow and can advise you on routes, including lots of circular routes from the house.
Walking the South Downs way? You can combine a stay at Burton Rough into your itinerary using some beautiful linking routes to Burton Rough (with only minimal road walking and just as pretty as the ‘Way’ itself). Travelling East, the best option is to leave the South Downs Way at Bignor Hill, cutting across the Downs to Duncton then across Burton Park. You can rejoin at Graffham – a lovely walk through the woods onto Duncton Common and then through farmland (or travelling West vice-versa).
Coming by public transport? Our nearest train station is Pulborough. We are also accessible by bus from Petworth or Chichester (Route 99)
